Councilman Moon confirmed the International Leadership of Texas free Charter School project has received a green light and that the construction of the $25 million project in Woodhaven is moving forward much faster than anticipated. There are a couple of minor issues that need to be resolved but they pose no problem in slowing the process. Since this site is platted and has utility lines, it is projected that the school will open for the 2017-18 school year.
International Leadership of Texas free Charter School Mission Statement:
Mission at the International Leadership of Texas is to prepare students for exceptional leadership roles in the international community by emphasizing servant leadership, mastering of English, Spanish, and Chinese Languages, and strengthening the body, mind, and character.
Note: The Driveline Instruction Drop-Off and Pick-Up videos address some of the traffic concerns that have been voiced. These drivelines are located on the grounds of the school.
Councilman Moon shared that the contractor continues to work with Fort Worth Transportation Public Works to study traffic control plans/patterns that will offset major problems and concerns. Police will be hired for assistance with the staggered arrival and departure schedules. There will also be about 20 additional people to help with traffic flow as well as the use of technology to alert teachers of arrival and dismissal time of their respective students.
