The new steering committee has met for the first time and has an ambitious agenda for 2010. Among our goals are:
1. Increase membership.
2. Find alternative sources of revenue
3. Layout the game plan for the meeting and events for the year.
4. Reduce the cost of the markers.
5. Expand our efforts to help the police combat crime.
To increase memberhip we'll be comig out with a letter explaining the reasons why everyone in Woodhaven should support the Neighborhood Association. To generate extra revenue we have partnered with AMBIT Energy. Any residence or business that signs up with AMBIT thru the Woodhaven Neighborhood Association will not only get a great deal on their electricity but approximately $4.00 will be donated back to WNA every month. (For details email: president@woodhavenfortworth.org)
We'll be bringing back the dinner meetings and work closely with the club to provide fun activities like Karoke and the 4th of July Picnic. Kyni Hartwell and Cindy Coughlin have volunteered to take on the upkeep of the markers so we can cut down on that expense (If you'd like to help them let us know) and Bruce Marquardt, our Security Chairperson is going to be working with Kit Sears to expand the COPS program and resurrect the Crime Watch program.
Like I said, it's an ambitious agenda and we need you to help us achieve our goals. Join the neighborhood association and recruit your neighbors to do the same. Working together we can get a lot more done for our neighborhood and our city.
Thanks.
